yes!

You remember this?

Well today I got redemption! Because this morning I became the happy owner of two tickets to Robbie Williams on the 29th of June in Wembley Stadium in London. I could not be more excited!

Last time (that time we don't talk about) I signed up for the pre-sale which also means I will in the future also be contacted for any pre-sales. Luckily. Because otherwise I might actually have missed that he would do another tour next year. Luckily I saw the email a few days ago and hanged on the door at 9am to buy a ticket. Wiser from the previous time and no mistakes where made.

Awooohoooo! I will finnaly get a chance to see Robbie live.
Now I just need to find out who wants to go with me. (And willing to pay for the other ticket...)

stomp

Sometimes all these networks we're part of truly are great in connecting people. This time it was LinkedIn that made me connect with an acquaintance from Copenhagen that now lives in London as well. We met up on Saturday and another friend of hers. Went for a stroll to Tower of London and then along the water and London Bridge. It was a really nice evening that we ended with watching the show Stomp.

I really love Stomp. I actually watched it about 10-12 years ago in Stockholm. Just as great this time. After that you just feel like being the long lost member of Stomp and hitting anything and everything. In my mind it would sound great and musical, but if I actually tried making music out of drumming on things it would probably just come out as weird noises.

STOMP in London

So one show and many more to go. I want to go through them all! Well, at least try to. At least all the musicals. Me love musicals.

so long and goodnight

The last concert with The Ark today. Forever.
A mixture of feelings, happy, sad, emotional, excited. It was such a great concert and they went out with a bang. So many people came that they filled Gröna Lund, 15 000 people came to say goodbye.
First time I saw The Ark was in 2005 I think, then last year and now today. They are truly one of the best live acts. They know how to make a show. And they have so many great songs and hits that a concert will never get boring.

The Ark, thank you for these years! And Ola, I hope you come back with an amazing solo career cause I am sure we have not seen the last of you.

Ola sang this song tonight so beautifully, it was only him singing accompanied by the piano. Probably the best of tonight.

daniel adams-ray

Went to see Daniel Adams-Ray at Gröna Lund today. It was great!
My friend E will probably think I am crazy now, but it was so much better than Håkan Hellström last week. It was even better than his ex-band mate Oskar Linnros that I saw last year.

I was actually a bit surprised how much people was there, I guess I had just imagined it being less than last weeks concert with Håkan, but I'm sure it was almost as much people today. Daniel did a great show, he was fun to see on stage and I just have nothing bad to say. I really like all of his songs. What made it all extra good is that he sang songs from his time in Snook, even better was it when Adam Tensta came to sing on one song as well as Petter and Veronica Maggio on Inga problem.

father's day and cornelis vreeswijk

Happy father's day father!

We went to Kista today to have some dinner and then see the new Swedish movie Cornelis about the troubadour Cornelis Vreeswijk. He have written many good songs throughout his lifetime. I liked the movie, but it is always difficult to make a movie about someone's life as it is impossible to fit everything in. The movie could almost have been a bit longer so we could have seen some more.

One of my favorite songs is Herr Fredrik Åkare och den söta fröken Cecilia Lind (Mr Åkare and miss Lind's ballad).

But another favorite which always put a smile on my face is Turistens klagan (Tourist Complaints).

misery

Some weeks ago I heard the good news that Maroon 5 is releasing a new album now in September. Exciting! And I really like their first single Misery from the album.

I fell in love with Maroon 5 when I lived in the USA in 2003 and released the singles Harder to breathe and This love. Those songs (and the whole album Songs about Jane) brings me back to that great year in the USA.

oskar linnros

A while back, on August 17th to be precise, I was at Mosebacke to see the concert with Oskar Linnros. It was really crowded but oh so good concert. Unfortunately it was quite short since he only have released one album. You can see him there somewhere in the picture but it is quite a bad one since I only had my cell phone with me and it was quite dark.

seventeen

Still a swollen face so unfortunately I could not go to the Veronica Maggio concert tonight. Which I really wanted to see. Kind of sucks. Especially since she is pregnant and this would be her last concert for quite some time.

the ark

Amazing concert with The Ark at Gröna Lund today. Real nostalgia. I saw them live about six years ago and they are still as good as they were then. They have such energy on stage, especially Ola when he moves and dances around the stage. They are always giving everything and it was nice to be a part of it tonight. They played many of the good old ones especially my favorite of them all, It takes a fool to remain sane. Although I missed the song, Echo chamber, which they did not played, I guess they could not fit in them all since they played only for about one hour. Even though they only played for a little more than one hour they managed to get in three(!) outfit changes.

feverish

Have not been sick for a while. Well, I guess that is because I have only been at home and now I have started venturing out in the real world almost daily.

Stayed at home yesterday and felt better in the evening so I went to work today. My mistake. I should have learned by now that you usually should stay one extra day at home, because you might get fooled. I felt completely dizzy and gone today at work and could not really focus. Now I feel all feverish. Should probably stay at home tomorrow.

It is sad though. Because I kind of wanted to go and see Miss Li at Gröna Lund. But I probably not have the energy for it.

salem

He should have won in the first place. Then we could have had a real chance in Eurovision Song Contest.

I cannot say I am surprised that Anna Bergendahl did not go to the final. Never liked the song really. Why send a experienced and talented artist when you can send a nervous, young girl not even graduated from high school.

dancing on my own

I love that Robyn is finally releasing some new music. It has been way too long. I have loved her from the beginning. Her first CD Robyn Is Here, was also my first CD. With songs like Show Me Love for example, she has changed quite a bit since then. Well, now she has her own record label and can make any music she wants instead of other people telling her what to do.

What is not to love about her. Great music. Great sense of style. She is cool. And her new songs coming up are great. I really hope I can make it to Arvikafestivalen (the Arvika festival) this year since she is one of the artists.

Here is Dancing On My Own.

covers #3

This  is truly impressive. He makes a cover on Lady Gaga's Paparazzi on his school's talent show. This boy is 12 years old and both play and sings incredibly. He will most definitely have a great career in music.

covers #2

A while back I found this cover on Ke$ha's Tik Tok by Magnus Weideskog. I really like the original song but also fell in love with this cover. Apparently he got some attention abroad since Perez Hilton tweeted about Magnus and his cover of the song.

And just discovered he releazed it as a single, yeay! You can listen to it on Spotify.

i am updated

Finally it was time for my Spotify to get updated to the new version. Been waiting for a few days now. Love the fact that you now can import your local files, a feature I really like. There are still several tracks and artists that are not on Spotify and now you can just import them instead of having two different players. Me like.

The social aspect seems quite nice too, that you have a friends list in Spotify. Now I just have to wait until the friends get the new version too, cause now I only have me on my friend list.

covers #1

I while back I stumbled across an album called Guilt by Association on Spotify that I have come to love. There are two albums out and I have read that there will come a third one which makes me happy.

There are some really good covers of both oldies as well as newer songs. The one below is Kaki King with I Think She Knows a Justin Timberlake cover.

Another favorite is Jim O'Rourke - Viva Forever (these links requires Spotify).

In Spotify you can hence find Guilt by Association Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

another chance

A song from long time ago that I really liked and still do.
I will always remember the video to it as well, it touched me and it is a really good video.

typical

Saw a post from John Mayer on Facebook and went in to his website to check his tour dates. Scrolling down the list of all the tour dates in USA and Australia. Then a few shows in Europe, Portugal, Netherlands and Britain. Then my heart skips a beat when I see that he is playing in Copenhagen, not only one concert but two! But that moment of happiness is soon shattered since I see the letters under the tour date forming the two words: SOLD OUT. Nooooo.....

I guess I will have to make do with listening to him on Spotify.
