no answer

I managed to make three phone calls today as Gustaf wanted me to do. However I did not talk to anyone. Only answering machines. No one called back. I am doing another try tomorrow and this time I am not calling at lunch time. Perhaps then people will actually be at their desks and answer their phone calls.

T – 6 days

Got my books some week or two ago. The first one I started reading deeply was the one about Philippines. Reading about all nice things in Manila and where to go around Manila for a nice beach. Found some trips you could make and had some plans for the vacation there.

Too bad now that we cannot do the Philippines trip anymore. It is not such a good idea to go to Manila with the typhoon season raging there and all the flooding the last weeks. Apparently the worst ones in the last years.

Now we have instead booked a trip to Tokyo! I had put Japan for a later trip another year but now it is on the table again. So 21st to 26th of October will be spent in Tokyo with three (perhaps even four) friends so I get company from Taipei. We can even sleep at a friend of a friend's place.

Will be a great trip!

i don't want to

I am sitting here with a bad conscience. I have plenty of things I need to do today but I cannot seem to get my ass to it. I need to take a walk to buy cat food but it is damn cold outside! I just want to stay here under my blanket where it is warm.

I need to make all those phone calls Gustaf told me to do. Call about my job applications and stuff. I hate making calls. I know it is for my own good and that it will increase my chance to get a job. But still. I cannot get my ass to do it.

I just want to lie here under my blanket listening to music on Spotify. Can't I just do that? Please?

frosting

The view from upstairs in our house. That is how cold it is here now, there is frost on the grass. And I am sitting here with a top, a long sleeved shirt, and a large knitted cardigan. And of course woolen socks. And a blanket on top of it all.

the present arrived

Today I finally got my belated birthday present! I love it. The watch is from Pilgrim. I like that it has both the golden and silver look of it and with a strap. Thank you family.

new hair

Today I went to the hair salon where my sister goes to school. I took her virginity by being her first customer. I let them do whatever coloring to my hair, although I wanted it a bit darker and not blond, my only restrictions.

I said I didn't want to become a blondie! How will this end?


I had to try the eyebrow coloring. I look like a witch.

And this is the result. Was a bit scared at first with the almost orange color. But it always takes a few minutes for me to get used to something new when it comes to my hair. Now I love it. Now it is only my haircut that does not suit my newly colored hair. Maybe I can flirt with sis to trim my hair later this week.

T – 7 days

One week and I am on the plane.

dinner and two desserts

Sis and me went shopping today. I am unemployed and should not be spending money. But I did. I found a really cool pair of boots. Green ones. Green is my favorite color and have been looking for green shoes since long. They are actually cool and were not that expensive either. Need to stop this spending now. Although, I am going to Taiwan next week so perhaps not during those weeks.

After the shopping trip we stopped by mom's work and got some dinner. It is great since you can get delicious food. So we ended up trying the zucchini and carrot patties with grilled beetroot (definitely have to try making those patties at home). Of course we switched the original potatoes to french fries with dip to it. Fancy food with french fries. Can it get any better?

Then sis and me shared two desserts. Two. A pannacotta with berries and a crème brûlée. My little stomach was totally full after that. Then we rolled home.

T – 9 days

Nine days left to Taiwan!

But I am sad about Philippines. They are now expecting the second typhon to come in, the worst one since 2006. And the flooding from the first one have not even gone away completely yet.

I really wanted to go to a pretty beach in Philippines. Should probably look for a plan b.

in search of the one

My nail polish collection is increasing. It feels like I am buying a new one every time I am out shopping. It is not strange buying three new ones today, is it?

I love having colorful nails. Especially after I lost my job since I then could have my nails painted blue, green, orange, pink, black, red etc. Perhaps not so suitable to come to the office with black or orange nails.

That is why I am now going crazy with it again.

I am also blaming it on my search for the perfect color. Years ago I bought a nail polish from H&M called dashing diva, an orange/red color, which unfortunately does not seem to exist anymore. I have looked in several stores, I have to ask one day. So I have bought several redish polishes but none is close to my dear old nail polish.
